Do you like to perceive and understand the world from various perspectives? Are you passionate about Spanish and interested in using it in your career? If so, you may consider the Spanish major!
Spanish majors study the experience of language, life and culture through the lens of the Spanish language. Faculty focus on literary research and cultural studies ensuring students are proficient in speaking and writing in Spanish.
Students gain specialty knowledge in film studies, language education and teaching, pluralism and multiculturalism, international relations and politics and language policy. A minor is required for both the Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees.
A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in spanish is available at Northwest. A minor is required with both programs. View the 4-year plan or catalog for courses and more information.
A minor in spanish teaches the foundations of Spanish communication, culture, conversation and composition. After taking the required courses, students can customize their minor from a list of approved electives. This minor requires the completion of 24 credit hours.
