Course Templates provide a consistent design for courses where you may have multiple sections or for an entire program. The course template helps students feel more comfortable with navigation within a course and where to find certain content or resources since the same consistent template is used in all sections or course sites. Your course template can include welcoming and visually interesting images specifically designed for the course content. Using our software Cidilabs, the Learning & Teaching Center can help you develop a course template that draws the students into your course, navigation, and content similar to the Online Professional template. If you would like to take a look at some course template examples or have one created for a multi-section course or a program, contact our office.
The Learning & Teaching Center provides Northwest faculty and students with Turnitin's plagiarism prevention software. Results are based on exhaustive searches of billions of pages from both current and archived instances of the Internet, millions of student papers previously submitted to Turnitin, and commercial databases of journal articles and periodicals. The Attendance Tracking System is a system for faculty to use to track attendance for their classes. There are different ways to take attendance. The first way is using the Kiosk method. ATS Kiosks are installed in specific classrooms on campus. Students swipe their student IDs in the kiosk while entering the room. This will record their attendance for the day. Attendance can also be tracked by ATS Manually Selection of the students present using seating charts or rosters. The third method, ATS Import Selection is an import of a text file that includes the students’ ID numbers. Or the attendance can be tracked from students’ devices using the access code generated by the teacher.
ATS Management is integrated into Canvas and open for all classes on campus in each trimester. All faculties can access it through Northwest Online (Canvas) course site. Contact the LTC if you have any questions about ATS.
